Thanks and congrats....

First off I’d like to say thank you to those of you who have already donated, to the M.S. Bike ride, I never expected to receive so much so fast, (I have not yet sent out any formal notice, or mass mailing’s, except for the last blog post) so to my friends thank you very much for your support. I am truly touched

While I’m on the subject of my friends I’d like to congratulate the Potato on his upcoming defense of his theses. I am not able to explain what his thesis is on, but when the picture book comes out, I’ll post a book report on it.

I’d also like to congratulate D.J. Paradise on his offer of acceptance to winemaking college. He had some obstacles in his way, but tore the suckers down in order to achieve this goal.

And one more congratulations is due to Netbug for leaving his basement this weekend and coming downtown and being social, (somewhat)

Well that’s about all the congratulations I got in me, I’m sure I’ll post something tomorrow.

Two weeks, two months........

Called in sick today, because yesterday at work I was feeling like crap, and when I woke up today, the thought that I might feel like crap at work again, made me feel even worse, so I decided to take the day off of course as soon as I called in I magically felt better! So today I decided to re-format my computer, infact as I'm writing this I'm still downloading service pak 2. The reason why I've decided to format was because I got my computer so full of spyware that it wasn't even funny, so to list off my priorities in what I believed I needed to reload first in order here ya go:
  • windows XP - because I have no choice
  • antivirus - for my paranoia, and because it had to get on at some point
  • the driver for my network card - because it wasn't recognized by windows
  • my t.v. tuner driver - because that's why I have a computer so I can watch crappy t.v.
  • msn 7.5 - because I'm still waiting for service pak 2 to download
  • Mozilla - because godram!

and sadly that's where I'm at, I don't want to install office until after service pak 2 is installed because I'm afraid that the automatic updates for that software may slow down service pak 2 installation.

This weekend I spend chillin, went out a bit, saw some family, I saw Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, all I can say is that Peter Jackson should be directing the movies, and writing the screenplay, he has a proven ability to bring epics to the screen, and as much as anyone may like any Harry Potter movie the pale in comparison to the books not because they should, in the sense that a movie based on a book will never to the original book justice , but because the movies are dancing around the difficult story lines and imagery of the book, and that is just pointless in this present day of movie making, but enough ranting (on movies)

I joined and was cut from a volleyball team all in the span of one match, its was fun... But apparently my team folded around me! At least I got my money back.

I was dragged to a salsa dancing banquet of some sort!, and although I don't dance, let alone salsa dance, but the women there were crazy! So I have no complaints about that evening, except that I have no pictures

Thats about it for now, who knows when I'll update again, but like I said before, I'll try to do it soon!

A Post Two Weeks In The Making

It’s been a long time… getting from there to here…

Yeah been a little lazy these past few weeks a lot of family things and other things, but today I’ve decided to sit my arse down and post. With that said, tomorrow I start back at my old job (see “Bad Day” below) trying to look at it in a positive light still but as tomorrow gets closer that’s proving mighty difficult.

In other news I fixed my bike at least three times in the last two weeks, (new hubs, gears, pedal crank) is that a sign of some “hard” riding, or just bad luck, who knows? But the bike is now in great shape (just it time to be put away for the season!). Haven’t done any major riding since that time I didn’t take a picture of a deer (see “Oh Stampy I miss you so…” below), but I did see two deer drinking together from a stream, on a path by my house. That was pretty amazing, and of course my camera was sitting nicely on my desk at the time, so I have no pictures to prove what I saw, I was debating about drawing a picture, but that’s a no…

A week ago Friday I got a chance to see Audioslave at the ACC, it was by far one of the , best concerts I have ever been to. They played a lot of Soundgarden and Rage Against the Machine, and just rocked the night away. It’s great when you end up at a show you had no idea you were going to and know, and like every song that was played. On another note, Chris Cornell sounds just like Steve Buscemi when he talks!

Looking for something to do!
Check this out

K, catch ya all later.

Ohh Stampy I miss you so…..

I’d love to say that this was a picture I took of a deer on my bike ride this weekend, but no, I left my camera at home, this is a picture of an elephant I took on a ride some weeks ago.

I took this picture Labour Day Weekend, at the Toronto Beaches. The elephant, whose name I can’t remember, was there on behalf Starlight Starbright foundation which grants wishes to seriously ill children. Apparently the elephant showed up at some child’s house, and did his shtick. Then the trainer (right beside the elephant in the baseball hat) decided to take the elephant down to the park at the beach and do an impromptu information session which was great, this elephant is the largest in Canada, in all honestly I can’t remember the rest, but the trainer did say he was from the Bowmenville Zoo, so if any one is interested look them up.

Some things that were very interesting about this encounter with the elephant was the way is was run, there didn’t seem to be any press, the trainer is somehow connected with the coordinator for the Starlight Starbright foundation (he was a friend or his bother in-law), and at the end the coordinator took his hat off and asked for cash donations, which seemed reasonable in a way. It was just odd to see an event like that put together on good will alone. I don’t know if that is because I’m jaded, or it’s just so rare.

And yes I just took the name Stampy from the "Simpsons", as I said I do not know the elephants name.

Bad day

Sorry I haven’t change the site around as much as I wanted, been pretty busy with work and life, been hitting my target at the gym which is making me feel pretty good.

However work is starting to change for the worse, in about two weeks I’m going back to my old job, at the location I used to work at. Personally I don’t care give me a job and I’ll do it, but my problem is that the work environment (at least when I left) sucked ass, with no sign of improvement but who knows, it means more money, but only because I can work weekends.

Speaking of weekends, I’m hoping to do at least 50km this weekend, should be a nice weekend weather wise, and it might be one of the last long distance rides I can go on, I’m going to try to take some pictures, if there any good maybe I’ll upload them.

On another note I saw “Broken Flowers” last night, pretty decent script, its kind of funny because I really like Jim Jamusch’s writing style, but I do not enjoy his direction, none the less Bill Murray does a great job, but it’s a role he’s now type caste for, but it was good to see Jeffery Wright, getting some decent screen roles. I’d recommend the movie to anyone who is as sick of mainstream cinema, as I am.

Started reading “Normals” by David Gilbert, its definitely different, I’ll let you know how it is when, and if I can finish it.
